Whatcha-Nail-Callit Nail Polish Set Swatches

I have some swatches of the Whatcha-Nail-Callit set nail polishes from the Ariel Collection by Sephora. Prior to this collection, the Disney collection polishes were made of of Sephora by OPI polishes, but now they are made up of Sephora X polishes, which I really like. There are six polishes in this collection, all inspired by The Little Mermaid.

From left to right: We Are In Luck Here, Hotter Under The Water, Ariel, Off The Hook, Life Is In The Bubbles, Devotin' To Floatin'

Two coats of We Are In Luck Here.

Two coats of Off The Hook.

Two coats of Devotin' To Floatin'.

Two coats of Hotter Under The Water. I had full coverage with just one coat, but I used two anyways.

One coat of Ariel over Devotin' To Floatin'.

I forgot to swatch Life Is In The Bubbles when I swatched the rest of the collection, so this is one coat over Sinful Colors Ablaze.

The formula was great for all the polishes except for Life Is In The Bubbles. Life Is In The Bubbles was really thick and I couldn't get even coverage of the glitter. My favorites from this collection are We Are In Luck Here and Devotin' To Floatin'.

Andy Warhol Banana Inspired Nails

Wow, sorry I haven't posted in a while. I haven't had a day off of work in 3 weeks so I'm pretty exhausted. I really miss sharing my manis with you all though! I may start just posting pictures when I don't have time to actually sit down and type something up.

Today's mani is inspired by Andy Warhol's Banana painting. I used a pink base color of Zoya Shelby and stamped bananas using Cheeky plate CH42 using Wet N Wild Black Creme and Sinful Colors Pullover.

Sephora's Splatter Nail

Last week I ordered a couple of things from Sephora. While browsing the Sephora website I came across their Nail Trends page. I saw a nail look that I really liked and knew I could copy it with the nail polish I already own. I finally had the time to try them out.

The nail trend from the Sephora website.

I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Wet Cement, and Wet N Wild Black Creme for the gradient. For the black and white glitter, I used Hard Candy Black Tie Optional. I loved how this turned out. Check out Sephora's nail page here for more nail trends and the polishes they recommend to recreate their looks.

Salon Perfect Neon Collision Collection

I have swatches of five out of the six polishes from the Salon Perfect Neon Collision collection. I only have five out of the six in the collection because I didn't realize I was missing the sixth when I bought them from Walmart. The color I'm missing is very close in color to another color in the collection. I contemplated going back to Walmart to buy the last one, but I decided I didn't "need" it. I swatched the polishes on nail wheels which I really try not to do, but I know I'll never get around to sharing them otherwise.

From left to right: Kaboom, Shocked, Zapped, Exploded, Jolt

From left to right: Kaboom, Shocked, Zapped, Exploded, Jolt

Gradient using Exploded and Jolt

For the swatches, I used two coats of each without topcoat. For the most part it was opaque but you may be better off doing three coats. My gradient turned out pretty thick. I did two coats of Exploded then blobbed a few coats of Jolt concentrating most of it towards the tip. I'm glad I found this collection, I love opaque glitters and neon!

Monsters University Inspired Nails

I loved Monsters Inc. when it first came out years ago, so I'm pretty excited for Monsters University. It comes out this Friday but I probably won't be able to go watch it til next week. I was inspired by the upcoming movie and decided to do some nail art inspired by a couple of the characters.

The eye on my ring finger turned out a little bit wonky. I definitely need to practice more on my freehand nail art. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the way my nails turned out and can't wait to watch the new movie. Will you be going to watch Monsters University?

Zoya - Alegra

Today I have another Zoya polish to share with you. Zoya Alegra was apart of the Summer 2010 Sparkle Collection. Alegra is a fuchsia pink jelly base with pink iridescent glitter.

I had to use 3 coats for opacity due to the jelly base. The formula was great on this like most Zoyas are. Alegra is such an amazing pink. I own four out of the six polishes in the Sparkle Collection, and they are all just as amazing.

I just want to apologize for my lack of posts the past few weeks. Now that I've graduated, I've been working full time. On top of that, I got another part time job. I'm still getting used to working both jobs, and I've been really drained. Hopefully, I'll get into the swing of things soon and will be back to posting more regularly.

Zoya - Tinsley

Zoya Tinsley was apart of the Summer 2013 Irresistible collection. Tinsley was the only polish I bought from that collection. This color is a stunner, look at that shimmer! According to Zoya, Tinsley is a "rose gold foil metallic."

I used three thin coats. You could probably get away with two, but at certain angles it was still pretty sheer. The formula flowed perfectly over the nail with no drag, flooding, or streaks. I really love Tinsley, its such a stunner and a must have in my book.

China Glaze - OMG A UFO

China Glaze OMG A UFO was part of the Hologram Collection that came out not to long ago. All of the polishes in the collection are holographic, but after seeing swatches online, I only picked up OMG A UFO. It's a murky olive green color, and I didn't have anything like it in my stash.

Taken in direct light to show the holo.

Two coats was all I needed for opacity. I used Seche  Vite in my pictures, but I don't think it affected the holo finish at all. The formula on this was really great. The holo effect was pretty good, but not as holo as the Color Club holographic polishes.

Paisley Stamping

Hey guys!

Sorry I haven't posted in the past week. I was really busy with school; I had a lot of last minute projects to finish up and it was finals week. I'm officially a college graduate though! I got my bachelor's in Business Administration with a concentration in finance.

To keep this post nail related, I have some stamping I did earlier this week to show you. I used Zoya Mitzi for my base. Mitzi is a matte chartreuse, but I added top coat so its no longer matte in my pictures. I stamped a paisley print using Bundle Monster plate BM 315 and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Speedy Sunburst. There was a little bit of bleeding, but seriously this is some of the best stamping I've done. :)

Rose Water Decals From BPS

I recently bought a few water decals from the Born Pretty Store. I'm not very good at free hand nail art so I thought water decals would be an easy way for me jazz up my nails. Here are the nails I did using some of their rose water decals.

I'm not completely in love with the colors I used, but I love the water decals. They were so easy to use and place. I cut out the flowers I wanted to use from the sheet and plunged them into the water. After about 10 seconds in the water, you can slide the decal off of the paper backing and place it onto your nails. If the placement isn't just right, you can slide the water decals around. Once it was placed the way I wanted, I pressed the water decals down to make sure it was flush with the nail and dried them off with a paper towel. Add some top coat and you're good to go. Easy right?

You can get the rose decals, along with a ton of different designs from the Born Pretty Store

Desserts & Sally Hansen Snow Globe

Hello!

I was wearing a french manicure, but it was little boring so I decided to spruce it up. I stamped on a whole bunch of desserts and added Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Snow Globe.

I haven't used Snow Globe until now, but absolutely love it. It has clear pastel, iridescent glitter and the formula was great. I'm definitely going to try Snow Globe over other polishes. :)

Bundle Monster Stamping Plate Case Review

Recently I purchased the Bundle Monster stamping plate case. Before I bought the case, I just stored all my stamping plates in a little box. It was really hard for me to go through and find a plate I wanted to use, and I was finally fed up with it so I went on Amazon and searched for "stamping plate storage." The first entry was the Bundle Monster Nail Stamp Stamping Plate Zippered Synthetic Leather Case Plates Holder Organizer (the name is pretty redundant.)

This case is exactly what I needed. It has 84 slots, but will hold 168 plates since you can put two plates into each slot back to back. This case makes it so much easier for me to flip through to find a plate I want to use. The case is a shiny black leather with a crocodile texture, I really like it. The inside of the case has a soft suede sort of fabric. The case won't fit all plates, but fits the Bundle Monster and Konad plates perfectly. The Cheeky plates I have are too big and won't fit, but they came with their own storage so not a biggie.

I purchased this off of Amazon here for $15.99. I think it's a must have if you don't already have a storage solution for your Bundle Monster or Konad plates.

Salon Perfect - Tropical Escape

So I've done some work on my blog layout. I was just using some template provided by blogger, but decided to take the time to customize my blog. I hope everyone likes it.

Today, I wanted to share a swatch of Salon Perfect Tropical Escape. Tropical Escape is a bright blue with turquoise shimmer. It's such a stunning color, I couldn't stop staring at my nails.

I used two coats and the formula was really good. This was my first Salon Perfect polish and I'm hoping all their polishes are as amazing as Tropical Escape.

Girly French Tip

Hello!

Today, I have a very girly, but simple french tip to share with you. I used two new Zoyas that I had purchased during their Earth Day promotion. I used Zoya Micky (pink) and Rocky (blue). For the silver, I used a Kiss Nail Art polish. To top it off, I added a bow from the Born Pretty Store.

I love how simple this was. I used those hole reinforcement stickers to tape off my nail, and painted my nails with Micky. After Micky was dried a little, I added the coat of Rocky down the middle of my nails. You have to wait for the first polish to dry though, because if you don't, the two polishes will run together. I free handed the silver, which was simple enough since I had the french tip done.

One thing I probably should have done was buff my nails out. Look at those ridges and how stained my nails are!

Nails Inc - Ladbroke Square

Nails Inc Ladbroke Square is part of the Nails Inc Ice Cream and Sprinkles Collection. The collection is made up of three polishes: Ladbroke Square, Upper Regent Street, and Charing Cross Road. Ladbroke Square has a mint base with green, purple and blue glitter.

I used two coats, but if you use a thicker coat you could probably get away with one. The formula on this wasn't the best. It was pretty thick, and the glitter made the formula really chunky making it a little hard to apply. I still really liked Ladbroke Square; the color combination of the polish is amazing.

Pure Ice - I'll Never Tell

Pure Ice I'll Never Tell is a brown with gold shimmer. It also has sheer white flakes which I felt like the polish could have used without.

I used two coats. The formula was streaky and sheer at one coat, but a thicker second coat took care of it. I really liked the brown and golden shimmer but I hated the sheer white flakes in the polish. It wasn't that noticeable on the nails, so it just felt unnecessary and it didn't help with applying the streaky formula.

"Glequin" French Tip

I bought some glequins from the Born Pretty Store not too long ago. Glequin is basically a glitter sequin. I was going to cover my entire nail with the glequins, but I was too lazy for all of that. I ended up doing a simple french tip over a base of China Glaze For Audrey.

Station - Love At First Byte

Station is a brand I'm not too familiar with. I've seen swatches on blogs, but I've never actual seen them in person before. I got this polish as part of the April Ipsy Glam Bag. Station Love At First Byte is part of the Miss Antoinette collection. It is a light peachy pink color.

The polish is pretty sheer and I needed three coats for opacity. Even though its sheer, the formula was still really nice. This would probably be a good polish for glitter sandwiches. I'm not exactly sure where you can find these in store, but they are sold online at http://store.misspn.com/

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Mermaid's Tale

Hello!

Today I wanted to share my swatch of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Mermaid's Tale. This polish is supposedly a dupe of DL's Across The Universe, but I don't own it to compare. Mermaid's Tale is a blue and green glitter in a dark blue jelly base.

I used three very thick coats to reach opacity. The formula sucked. The polish was pretty sheer, and I had to glob the polish on to make sure I got good glitter coverage. Regardless of the formula, I loved the way this looked on the nail. Next time, I'll probably layer this over navy or black.

Thanks for stopping by!

Yellow and Pink Spring Nail Art

Hey there!

I wanted to share a mani I did earlier this week. I did a yellow and pink gradient using Zoya Pippa, Sweet, and Lara and topped it off with a no name Icing holo glitter. Then I stamped flowers on top of that with Cheeky plate CH 44 using Wet N Wild Black Creme.

I really love the way it turned out. It's very appropriate for the weather right now. It's no longer raining here and it's finally warm out and the flowers are starting to bloom.
