Sally Hansen In A Flurry

Today, I've got a swatch of one of the polishes from the Fall 2012 Sally Hansen Insta-Dri line, In A Flurry.

In A Flurry is a gorgeous black with teal, green, blue, and purple slightly duochrome shimmer. This is such a unique shade, and perfect for Fall. You don't want to miss out on this polish!

I used three coats because I had a few bald spots, but you can definitely get way with two. I absolutely hate the brushes on the Insta-Dri polishes.  It's so wide, it was hard for me to avoid getting polish on my cuticles.  The formula on this was pretty good.  It was runnier than I expected, which is why I ended up with bald spots. The polish is definitely worth getting.

Nails Inc Sprinkles Sugar House Lane

Hello everyone!

Today I have a swatch of one of the polishes from my Nails Inc haul, Sugar House Lane. Sugar House Lane is part of the Sprinkles Collection.  I have two out of the four polishes in this collection, but I plan on picking up the other two when I get the chance.

Sugar House Lane is a black and whitish silver glitter in a taupe base. The polish reminded me of black and white speckled stone.

The formula was great. I used two coats, and had perfect coverage. I was expecting the formula to be thick and hard to work with, but it was perfect.  I can't wait to swatch the other polish from this collection.

Maybelline Color Show Denim Dash

Hey there!

Today I have swatches of Maybelline Color Show Denim Dash. I got Denim Dash along with one other metallic color from this line, which I'm too lazy to dig out right now.  This was the first time trying out the Color Show line, and I really like it.

Denim Dash is a blue with silver shimmer.  I didn't know this when I first bought it, but it dries matte to give the polish a "denim" look to them.  Its more of a satiny matte, but I really liked it and it did give me a denim vibe.  I have pictures of Denim Dash with and without topcoat.  The shimmer really comes alive with the topcoat.

Without topcoat:

With topcoat:

I used two coats in the pictures above, but you may be able to get away with one. The formula was kind of thick, but it was manageable. I can't decide if I like it with our without the topcoat.

What do you think, Matte or shiny?

Nails Inc. Haul

I recently purchases some Nails Inc. polishes from Sephora. I really wanted the Nails Inc. Sprinkle Special Effect glitter polishes.  Unfortunately at the time only two of the four were in stock.  I also grabbed the mini special effects collection, and a couple of other polishes.

Outside of the box: Electric Lane, Marylebone, Stratford

Sugar House Lane, Topping Lane, Piccadilly Arcade, Bloomsbury Square

I'll probably have some swatches for you later this week.  I'm excited to paint my nails with these polishes! I just wish glitter removal was easier.

Have a good weekend!

Zoya Reva

Today, I have a swatch of Zoya Reva. This polish came out last summer as part of the Sunshine collection. Reva is a gorgeous strawberry red with gold fleck shimmer. I love this color, I couldn't help but stare at how sparkly my nails looked.

I used two thin coats, but it could have used a third since the polish is on the sheerer side. The formula was a little thin and sheer, but gave me no problems at all and dried fairly quick. I have one other polish from the Sunshine collection, Faye, but I really need to pick up the rest of the polishes in the collection.

Enjoy!

Julep Maria

Julep Maria is described as a "shimmering platinum rose." Maria is a metallic rose gold that leans more pink. I received this in one of my Julep Maven boxes way back when, I'm not sure of the exact month. I didn't take a bottle shot of this unfortunately, and being the lazy self that I am, I decided to post without it.

I used two coats for full coverage.  The application wasn't the best.  Maria is very brushstroke prone if you aren't careful.  Also, if you have ridges or imperfections, Maria will magnify it. Color wise, I was pretty pleased.  I thought Maria was a pretty unique color, and I really like metallic finishes.

Independence Day Nails

I just wanted to wish everyone who celebrates, happy 4th of July!

I also wanted to share my nails I did for the fourth. I used OPI No Room For The Blues, Zoya Shelby, and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White. I chose to do a little spin on the usual red, white and blue by substituting the red for pink.

Thanks for reading!
Have a fun 4th of July and be safe.
